DPH recently released the Special Emphasis Report, “Infant and Early Childhood Injury, 2005-2010” which includes Massachusetts data on injuries to children ages 0-5. 

This 7-page report includes data on injury deaths, hospitalizations and ED visits in this age group, leading injury causes for infants and children 1-5 years, and data on other key childhood injuries, including Sudden Unexpected Infant Death (SUID), traumatic brain injury, drowning and poisoning.

This report also highlights the work of the MA Home Visiting Initiative, which is implementing interventions in 17 communities across Massachusetts.
