Mandated reporters play an important role in keeping children safe and helping families access important resources.  Mandated reporters are often the first adults to come in contact with children at risk of abuse or neglect and have an opportunity to help them and their families get intervention or support.

In Massachusetts, the Department of Children and Families (DCF) depends on reports from professionals and other concerned individuals to learn about children who may need protection. It is the shared responsibility of the community to report information that will help the Commonwealth protect children from harm and nurture their development.

The Executive Office of Health and Human Services (EOHHS) has developed and launched a “Mandated Reporter for Child Abuse and Neglect” eLearning tool intended to enhance mandated reporters' understanding of this responsibility. This eLearning is available online free of charge to community-based providers and the public.

In order to access the eLearning you will need to register in PACE (the Commonwealth's Learning Management System) by completing the registration form at: www.mass.gov/eohhs/consumer/family-services/child-abuse-neglect/mandated-reporter-elearning-form.html.
