Chief Justice Steven D. Pierce recounted the heroism and courage displayed by employees of the Springfield Court Departments during and after a devastating 2011 tornado which struck Main Street in Springfield, damaging many buildings, homes and the Hampden Hall of Justice.

Employees of the Springfield Court Departments were recognized for their heroism and courage during the 2011 tornado that hit the Hampden Hall of Justice. Employees represented the Hampden Housing, Juvenile, Probate & Family, and Superior Courts; the Springfield District Court; Security; Court Facilities; and the Office of Community Corrections.

Employees of the Springfield District Court received special recognition for their response to the extraordinary 2011 tornado which damaged the Hall of Justice.
