VII. GLOSSARY

DISABLED PERSON: Any person who has a physical or mental impairment which substantially limits one or more of such person's major life activities, has a record of such impairment, or is regarded as having such impairment.


MINORITY
:

BLACK: (African/American) All persons having origins in any of the Black racial groups of Africa.

HISPANIC: All persons of Mexican, Puerto Rican, Cuban, Central or South American or other Spanish culture or origin, regardless of race.

ASIAN or PACIFIC ISLANDER: All persons having origins in any of the original peoples of the Far East, Southeast Asia, the Indian Subcontinent, or the Pacific Islands. This area includes, for example, China, Japan, Korea, the Philippine Islands and Samoa.

NATIVE AMERICAN, ALASKAN, OR ALEUTIAN: All persons having origins in any of the original peoples of North America, and maintaining cultural identification through tribal affiliation or recognition.

CAPE VERDEAN: All persons having origins in the Cape Verde Islands.

VIETNAM ERA VETERAN: "Vietnam veteran" shall mean (1) any person who performed such wartime service during the period commencing August fifth, nineteen hundred and sixty-four and ending on May seventh, nineteen hundred and seventy- five, both dates inclusive, or (2) any person who served at least one hundred and eighty days of active service in the armed forces of the United States during the period between February first, nineteen hundred and fifty-five and August fourth, nineteen hundred and sixty-four.
