11.000
WORKERS' COMPENSATION
A.
Trial Court employees are covered by the provisions of the Workers'
Compensation Act,
G.L. c. 152.
B.
An employee who has been involved in an accident which may be work
related or who has suffered an injury or illness which may be work
related is responsible for notifying his or her department head
or designated Workers' Compensation Agent.
C.
Upon learning from any source of a work related accident, injury
or illness, the department head or the designated Workers' Compensation
Agent is responsible for completing and forwarding the necessary
forms to the Workers' Compensation Section of the Human Resources
Division of the Executive Office for Administration and Finance
(HRD/WC), including completing and forwarding within 48 hours, the
Notice of Injury Report
and Internal Claims Investigation form. Copies of all forms
forwarded to HRD/WC must also be sent to the Legal Department of
the Administrative Office of the Trial Court. The department head
or the designated Workers' Compensation Agent is also responsible
for notifying the Administrative Office of the Trial Court when
an employee returns to work.
Questions
regarding Workers' Compensation should be directed to the local
Workers' Compensation Agent or to the Administrative Office of the
Trial Court.
