OCIS Mandatory Ethics Workshop and Exam
The Office of Court Interpreter Services is pleased to announce it will be offering its Ethics Workshop and Exam, starting June of 2010. The Ethics Workshop and the Ethics Exam are a mandatory requirement for all active OCIS screened and certified Interpreters, following the November 2009 issuance of a revised Code of Professional Conduct for Court Interpreters, Section 4.00 of the Standards & Procedures of the Office of Court Interpreter Services.
OCIS looks at the completion of this educational requirement as a tool, both for itself and for its interpreters, to better understand the standards of practice that govern the role of professional court interpreters in Massachusetts, and to effectively respond to the issues court interpreters face daily.
