| RE: |
Interim
Internet and Intranet Web Page Policy |
Several months ago, I appointed a committee to enhance our Internet
and Intranet Web Sites and to develop policies and guidelines to govern
their contents and use. The Web Site Oversight Committee's work on
the contents and design of the sites continues. Over the next weeks,
those who access the sites will observe many changes in how they look
and the information they contain.
Enclosed for your consideration is
a copy of the
interim Internet and Intranet Web Page Policy.
The policy is a statement of general principles concerning the purposes,
administration and contents of the sites. The Policy is interim. The
very serious issues pertaining to public access to certain case-related
information are still under study by the IT Project Advisory Board;
a section of the Policy is reserved for inclusion of the policy on
that important subject.
Please
circulate the Web Page Policy to judges and staff in your Departments,
divisions and offices. I encourage you to comment on the Policy
and on the sites. Kindly direct those comments and any questions
you may have to our Webmaster, Kevin Buckley, by e-mail at Webmaster@jud.state.ma.us
or by telephone at (617) 725-1400, ext. 237. We look forward to
hearing from you.
