Bar associations are professional organizations for
lawyers. There are statewide and county bar associations
(listed below) as well as bar associations of lawyers
with common interests, such as women lawyers or lawyers
who practice a particular kind of law. Some bar associations
run free, reduced-fee and/or referral panels to help
connect lawyers and clients. See section F below for
