1. How do I order a transcript of a court proceeding?
First, you will need to have all of your case information; the name of the case and docket, the name of the judge and courtroom number, and the date and time of your proceeding.
Then you will need to obtain and complete the order form, which you can get by clicking here or by emailing Transcription Services at firstname.lastname@example.org to have them email you a form.
When you've completed the form, submit it to Transcription Services by email at email@example.com, or by fax at 617-878-0762.
2. Do I need to send money to Transcription Services when I submit my completed order form?
No. Transcription Services does not accept payment.
3. What happens after I submit my completed order form to Transcription Services?
When Transcription Services receives your completed order form, they will process your request by securing the audio recording from the court and selecting a transcriber to prepare your transcript.
Shortly after that, you will be contacted by the transcriber for a deposit payment and given an estimated completion date.
4. Do I need to send a deposit payment to the transcriber?
Yes. You will receive an email or telephone call from the transcriber informing you of the deposit payment, estimated completion date, and final balance payment.
You will need to send a deposit payment to the transcriber before s/he begins production, and the final balance payment before the transcript is completed and released to you.
5. How much does a transcript cost?
A regular transcript costs $3.00 per page and a regular copy transcript costs $1.00 per page.
A rush transcript costs $4.50 per page and a rush copy transcript costs $1.50 per page.
6. How long does it take to get a transcript?
Rush transcripts are prepared within 1-7 days, depending on the length of the audio recording and regular transcripts are prepared within 90 days.
7. What if I need a transcript but can't afford one?
If you are determined to be indigent by the court, the state will cover the expense of the transcript.

8. What if an Official Court Reporter recorded my proceeding in the Superior Court?
You will need to call the reporter by utilizing the directory.

9. What is an official transcript and how is it used?
An official transcript is a written record of what is said during a court proceeding, transcribed from an electronic recording by a transcriber or reporter.
Transcripts are commonly used by parties seeking review by the appeals court.
10. Can I get a duplicate audio recording on compact disc of a proceeding?
Yes. The clerk of courts, clerk magistrate, or register where your proceeding was held can give you a duplicate audio recording on compact disc of a proceeding.
You will need to complete a form that the clerk or register will provide and pay that clerk or register $50.50 for the compact disc.
Each compact disc will cost $50.50.
