Acting Probation Commissioner Will Not Seek Reappointment

Acting Commissioner of Probation Ronald P. Corbett, Jr., has notified Chief Justice of the Trial Court Robert Mulligan and Court Administrator Harry Spence of his decision not to seek reappointment when his two-year term ends in January 2013. The Trial Court will begin the search process for his replacement in September.

Dr. Corbett has worked for the Massachusetts Court System for 39 years and plans to focus on teaching, research, and spending more time with his family.

Chief Justice Mulligan and Court Administrator Spence issued the following joint statement: "Ron Corbett has provided the judicial system with many years of extraordinary service in Probation and as the executive director of the Supreme Judicial Court. We greatly appreciate his willingness to step in during the past two challenging years, as he worked swiftly and effectively to restore integrity and service quality to the state's Probation Service."
