2011 Annual Report on Access to Justice Initiative Issued
The 2011 Annual Report on the Access to Justice Initiative in the Trial Court has been submitted to Chief Justice Ireland and Chief Justice Mulligan by Special Advisor for Access to Justice Initiatives First Justice Dina Fein and Deputy Advisor / Senior Staff Attorney Sandra Lundy.
In their cover letter to the chief justices, they acknowledge the invaluable support the Initiative has received from court leadership and front line staff as follows: "Trial Court efforts such as this require commitment from court leadership and participation from front line staff, and we are fortunate to have had both. We applaud our dedicated colleagues, and offer this report to shine a light on their commitment to ensuring access to justice for all members of society."
The report discusses the role of technology in enhancing access to justice, identifies grants obtained in 2011, and summarizes the activities and accomplishments of the following five Task Forces:
