June 5, 2009   CMAB Annual Report Issued    Message from Chief Justice Margaret H. Marshall & Chief Justice Robert A. Mulligan We are pleased to share the 2008 Annual Report of the Court Management Advisory Board (CMAB) , which highlights activities and accomplishments across the Trial Court to improve the accountability and effectiveness of court operations.   We greatly appreciate the support and commitment of chief justices, judges, clerks, and all court staff to continuous improvement within the Trial Court, as we address unprecedented fiscal challenges. The report commends the entire Trial Court for “tremendous dedication to the initiatives undertaken during 2008.” The report includes summaries of many important efforts, including the 2008 Court Metrics Report, the final Report on the Access and Fairness Survey Project, and the Boston Municipal Court Report on Reliability and Integrity of Case Files Project.   The CMAB was established in 2003 by the Legislature after issuance of the Report of the Visiting Committee on Management in the Courts (the “Monan” report), which identified the need for significant management reform. The members of the CMAB continue to provide valuable guidance to the Trial Court, as we work together to increase effectiveness and transparency in the judicial branch.   Thank you for your dedication as you address daily challenges and enable ongoing improvements in the Trial Court.
