Court Capital and Facilities Management Department Formed
Chief Justice for Administration & Management Robert A. Mulligan has announced the formation of a new department, Court Capital and Facilities Management, which combines the Court Facilities Bureau and Court Capital Projects into one entity to address all building issues across the Trial Court.
Michael Jordan will serve as Director of the new department and Vincent Musto will serve as Assistant Director. Court Facilities Bureau Director Stephen Carroll retired in October after close to 40 years of service.
“The Trial Court has had an unprecedented period of new courthouse construction, yet some of our older facilities present daily challenges” said Chief Justice Mulligan. “Consolidating the valuable resources we have in the Court Facilities Bureau and Court Capital Projects departments will allow us to effectively leverage the knowledge and expertise our buildings professionals bring to the development and oversight of our facilities.”
Both departments have worked closely with the state’s Division of Capital Asset Management. The Court Facilities Bureau provides ongoing maintenance of 64 Trial Court buildings owned by the state and completes capital projects on those buildings each year. Court Capital Projects oversees the development and construction of new courthouses.
