Complaint for Contempt

 

 

 

Plaintiff must indicate whether complaint is for civil or criminal contempt.

 

A complaint for civil contempt is intended to cause the defendant to clear him/herself of contempt and comply with the pre-existing order. In contrast to civil contempt, a criminal contempt proceeding is punitive,and is intended to punish a person for violation of the court's order.

Exact dates and specific details must be sent out in item 4.

 

No filing fee is required.

 

Service of complaint on defendant is to be made in accordance with

Massachusetts Rules of Domestic Relations Procedure Rule 4

 

Attorneys are required to file Uniform Counsel Certification
