PROBATE AND FAMILY COURT ANNOUNCES THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE
STANDING ORDER 2-08 IMPOUNDMENT OF GUARDIAN AD LITEM REPORTS
The Probate and Family Court Administrative Office has announced that Standing Order 2-08, Impoundment of Guardian Ad Litem Reports will be effective on March 10, 2008. In order to protect the privacy of parties and their children to a case, the Probate and Family Court Administrative Office has implemented this Standing Order which will keep the reports separate and unavailable for public inspection. Unless otherwise ordered by the court, all guardian ad litem reports except those filed in cases involving accounts, licenses to sell and estate plans are impounded.
The Probate and Family Court Administrative Office solicited comment on the Standing Order from our judges and court personnel as well as members of the Bar Associations. A number of helpful suggestions were submitted and included in the final version of the Standing Order.
