Practice Pointers for Lawyers Appearing Before You The courtroom should have an atmosphere which allows cases to proceed in a timely, proper, and respectful fashion. Counsel can be very helpful in this regard by being fully prepared in terms of paperwork and oral presentations, being on time and having their clients and witnesses on time, and being candid and to the point in responding to inquiries and requests from the bench.
