Recent Meetings Focused on Economic Outlook and Judicial Branch Impact

The Deans of the Massachusetts law schools met with Supreme Judicial Court Chief Justice Margaret H. Marshall and Chief Justice for Administration and Management Robert A. Mulligan on December 14 at the John Adams Courthouse to discuss the court budget and the challenge to continue to deliver justice in the face of the financial crisis.

On December 15, Michael J. Widmer, President of the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation, and Thomas M. Clarke, Vice President, Research and Technology, National Center for State Courts, gave presentations on the economic outlook and its impact on court operations both in Massachusetts and nationally to Chief Justices, First Justices, Clerks, and other court managers at the John Adams Courthouse. Chief Justice Marshall and Chief Justice Mulligan provided introductory remarks.
