Flood Repair Timeline – Worcester Trial Court

 

Friday, October 21, 2016:

- 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.: Worcester court complex is hit with 6” of rain. Facilities and Security personnel quickly remove boxes from floors.

 

- By 9:00 p.m.: Restoration crews arrive and get to work.

 

- By 10:00 p.m.: Elevator crew are on site, start repairs.

 

 

Saturday and Sunday, October 22-23:

- Facilities and outside repair and restoration crews work 24/7 until the morning of Monday, October 24.

 

- Tasks completed over the weekend included:

 

  • Installing 125 dehumidifiers and 100 fans and air scrubbers
  • Pumping out and vacuuming 200,000 gallons of water
  • Restoring operation of six elevators damaged by water in elevator pits
  • Moving and setting up 42 District Attorney office employees to unaffected office space
  • Removing large amounts of carpet in the District Attorney's office
  • Disconnecting power to cubicles

 

 

Monday, October 24:

- 10:00 a.m.: Courthouse is ready and open for business.
