Supreme Judicial Court Chief Justice Ralph Gants, Trial Court Chief Justice Paula Carey, Court Administrator Harry Spence and Governor Charlie Baker were among those speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Lowell Justice Center last month. The courthouse, to be built in Lowell's historic Hamilton Canal District, will house the District, Superior, Probate & Family, Juvenile and Housing Courts. The design includes space for 17 courtrooms, a Court Service Center, and offices for the District Attorney and Registry of Deeds.
