Trial Court Seeks Input to Create Center of Excellence
The Trial Court, in partnership with the Department of Public Health, Bureau of Substance Abuse (BSAS) and the Department of Mental Health (DMH), has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to assist in the development of a Center of Excellence to promulgate best practices in juvenile and adult court practices related to addressing mental health, substance abuse and trauma.
The RFI solicits input and strategies for designing and implementing a functional Center of Excellence that will foster leadership, best practices, research, technical assistance and training. The RFI provides examples of ways that other states have developed and implemented Centers of Excellence for the Judicial System and Behavioral Health.
A successful Center will serve as a laboratory of promising models and best practices. It will require leadership and expertise from the criminal justice system, community agencies, consumers and peers, researchers, and technical assistance providers.
The RFI seeks responses by Friday, January 31, 2014.
