Notice from
Chief Justice Robert A. Mulligan
on the Appointment of the
Chief Justice of the Probate and Family Court Department


The term of the Honorable Paula M. Carey as Chief Justice of the Probate and Family Court Department will expire on September 27, 2012.  Pursuant to G.L. c. 211B, §5, the Chief Justice of the Trial Court is authorized to reappoint Chief Justice Carey for an additional five-year term or to appoint a successor Chief Justice.

 

In furtherance of the selection process, I am soliciting comments from judges, court employees, attorneys, and other interested persons on the condition and operations of the Probate and Family Court Department, its priorities and accomplishments, the future goals and direction of the court, and the role of the Chief Justice in leading the court in the future.

 

Nominations for the position of Chief Justice also are invited.  All correspondence should be sent to my attention at the address below by Wednesday, August 15, 2012, or emailed to cjappt@jud.state.ma.us.
