Boston Open Dialogue Session Well Attended
More than 200 Boston area attorneys and court
employees attended the Open Dialogues on Court Practices held on September 17 at the Brooke Courthouse. Judge Rosalind
Miller welcomed participants and introduced speakers prior
to breakout discussions conducted by each court department.
Supreme Judicial Court Chief Justice Margaret H. Marshall,
Chief Justice for Administration & Management Robert
A. Mulligan, Massachusetts Bar President Edward McIntyre
and Boston Bar President Kathy Weinman all made brief remarks.
The Trial Court initiated this statewide series
of meetings with the bar to seek input on recent changes
in court management practices introduced to make the courts
more effective and accountable. The sessions have given lawyers,
judges, and court staff an opportunity to clarify issues,
discuss each others’ challenges, and identify possible
areas for collaboration and continued improvement.
The remaining Open Dialogues on Court Practices,
which are sponsored by the Massachusetts Trial Court, the
Court Management Advisory Board, the Massachusetts Bar Association,
and local bar associations, are scheduled for:
