Committee on Pro Bono Legal Services Holds Open Meeting
on
Pro Bono Legal Services for Greater Boston

The Supreme Judicial Court Standing
Committee on Pro Bono Legal Services held an open meeting
at the Boston Bar Association on January 22 to provide members
of the bar and public an opportunity to learn about the outstanding
pro bono work of lawyers who assist people of limited means
with legal services.

The
Supreme Judicial Court established the Standing Committee on
Pro Bono Legal Services in 1999 to promote volunteer legal work
in Massachusetts in an effort to help people of limited means
in need of legal representation, in accordance with SJC Rule
6.1, Voluntary Pro Bono PublicoService (“for the public good”).
