BROCKTON TRIAL COURT
RENAMED
THE GEORGE N. COVETT COURTHOUSE
More
than two hundred members of the community joined judicial
leaders, judges, lawyers, legislators, state officials,
and court employees to celebrate the renaming of the
Brockton Trial Court as the George N. Covett Courthouse
on January 26, 2006. The Legislature designated that
the courthouse be named in honor of the late Honorable
George N. Covett, former presiding justice of the Brockton
District Court. Among his many contributions are his
work in securing a new courthouse for Brockton and
the establishment of a youthful offenders program in
the city.
