JUDGE THOMAS T. MERRIGAN TO RECEIVE DISTINGUISHED
SERVICE AWARD FROM NATIONAL CENTER FOR STATE COURTS
What:
In
recognition of his outstanding contributions to improve
the administration of justice, the National Center for
State Courts is awarding Judge Thomas T. Merrigan, First
Justice of Orange District Court, the 2001 Distinguished
Service Award at a special award ceremony. Judge Merrigan
is being honored for his work as founder and co-chair
of the Franklin County Futures Lab Task Force, as project
director of the Franklin County Court and Community Substance
Abuse Intervention Project, and for other leadership initiatives
to improve local court administration. Judge Merrigan
is being recognized by the national organization for court
improvement contributions that “extend beyond his service
on the bench.”
