The Massachusetts
Trial Court will mark the opening of the newly-built
Middlesex County Superior Court with a special event
for employees and local officials. Chief Justice
for Administration & Management Robert A. Mulligan
will host the program. State and local officials
and building project leaders will make brief remarks.
The new seven-story court building opened on March
17. Previously, the court was located in the Edward
J. Sullivan Courthouse in Cambridge. The spacious
new courthouse accommodates 180 court employees
and features 15 courtrooms, modern information
technology and digital recording capability, handicapped
accessibility, and secure detention areas. The
Middlesex Law Library also will be located in the
building. Ample public parking is available.
The court building, developed and constructed
by Cummings Properties, was completed in just over
one year and is the first completed phase of the
TradeCenter 128 project.
