HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS VISIT
SUPREME JUDICIAL COURT ON STUDENT GOVERNMENT DAY

Judicial Court Justice Roderick L. Ireland met with high
school students from across the Commonwealth as part
of Student Government Day activities on Friday, April
1, 2005 in the Oliver Wendell Holmes Courtroom of the
John Adams Courthouse. The students then toured the courthouse
with volunteer docents from Discovering Justice who explained
the building's history, art and architecture, and
the contributions of John Adams to the judicial branch
of government.
Sponsored
by the Massachusetts Department of Education, Student Government
Day was established in 1947, and gives young people the
opportunity to learn about state government through the
observation of governmental proceedings and interactive
activities.
