FIFTEEN TRIAL COURT EMPLOYEES HONORED FOR
EXCEPTIONAL WORK PERFORMANCE;
COURT OFFICER IN NORFOLK SUPERIOR COURT NAMED
TRIAL COURT EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR

Boston, MA - Chief Justice for Administration and Management Robert A. Mulligan today announced that the Trial Court Employee of the Year is June T. Kelly, a court officer in Norfolk Superior Court and resident of Norwood. Chief Justice Mulligan also announced the names of the fourteen recipients of the 2004 Trial Court Employee Excellence Awards (see attached). This year the awards recognize Trial Court employees who have demonstrated exemplary performance in the workplace and have inspired and motivated others through their positive examples. Candidates for the awards are nominated by their supervisors and colleagues.

            An awards ceremony will take place on Wednesday, May 26, 2004, at 1:00 p.m. at the Endicott House, 80 Haven Street, in Dedham.

            Ms. Kelly, a registered nurse, has been a court officer for nearly twenty years at Norfolk Superior Court. She is highly respected by the judges and her colleagues there who cite her exceptional interpersonal skills, professionalism, and dedication. A model court officer, Ms. Kelly is known for her ability to maintain courtroom decorum, often under difficult circumstances, while being cognizant of the needs of judges, lawyers, jurors, victims, and witnesses. She credits her fellow court officers for their good teamwork.

            Chief Justice Mulligan said, "It is a privilege to honor motivated and hardworking individuals who are recognized as outstanding employees by their supervisors and peers. Each one deserves our deep gratitude for the extraordinary work that is performed every day in service to the courts and to the public."

            Since 1987, the Administrative Office of the Trial Court has honored Trial Court employees with the annual awards for their outstanding job performance and commitment to public service. A thirteen-member committee selected the winners from more than 200 nominations this year. There are approximately 6,800 employees in the Trial Court at more than 100 court locations and offices statewide.
