PRESENTS THREE JOHN ADAMS AND JOHN QUINCY ADAMS PRO BONO PUBLICO AWARDS
Boston - Supreme
Judicial Court Justice Francis X. Spina, on behalf
of the Supreme Judicial Court Standing Committee
on Pro Bono Legal Services, on May 6 presented
John Adams and John Quincy Adams Pro Bono Publico Awards
to three recipients for their outstanding committment
in providing volunteer legal services for poor and
disadvantaged citizens in Massachusetts.
Justice
Spina presented Adams Awards to Worcester Attorney
John A. Burdick, Jr.; Attorney Anna E. Dodson, an
associate at Goodwin Procter LLP in Boston; and the
Bankruptcy Law Section of the Boston Bar Association
during a ceremony at Boston College Law School. Speakers
at the presentation included Supreme Judicial Court
Chief Justice Margaret H. Marshall, Boston College
Law School Dean John H. Garvey, and Standing Committee
on Pro Bono Legal Services Chair Mary K.
Ryan, a partner at Nutter, McClennen & Fish in
Boston.
The
Standing Committee on Pro Bono Legal Services,
established in 1999 to promote volunteer legal work
in Massachusetts to help people of limited means,
has presented Adams Awards to deserving attorneys
and legal organizations each year since 2002.
