WORCESTER COUNTY LAW LIBRARY
OPENS ACROSS FROM COURTHOUSE
The
Worcester Law Library opened its doors at a new site
opposite the Worcester Trial Court on Monday, May 18,
2009. The library, located at 184 Main Street, complements
the courthouse functions with a range of services and
provides meeting rooms for public use.
The
Law Library will hold an Open House on June 4, 2009,
from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. to kick off activities associated
with the celebration of the Superior Court 150th Anniversary.
The
17 Trial Court Law Libraries operate statewide to serve
the court, the legal community and the general public.
Approximately 300,000 patrons visit the libraries annually
and the Law Library website draws over 80 million visitors.
In addition to a wide range of reference materials, the
electronic databases Westlaw and Lexis are available
to the public at the Law Libraries free of charge. All
of the 17 Law libraries also offer patrons free wireless
access.
