2007 SUPREME JUDICIAL
COURT JUDICIAL YOUTH CORPS
HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS BEGIN EDUCATIONAL SESSIONS
Supreme
Judicial Court Justice Roderick L. Ireland administered
an "oath" in the John Adams Courthouse to
twenty Boston public high school students who were recently
selected to participate in the 2007 Judicial Youth Corps
program. The students will be learning about the law
and the Massachusetts judicial system in after school
educational sessions taught by judges, lawyers, and court
staff for the next seven weeks. In July and August, the
students will work in court offices throughout Suffolk
County and will continue their weekly educational sessions.
A
new Judicial Youth Corps program is currently being established
in Worcester with the assistance of the Massachuetts
Bar Association and Massachusetts Bar Foundation. Ten
public high school students will be chosen in the next
few weeks to be participants and will attend similar
educational sessions and work as interns in courts in
downtown Worcester this summer.
