ATTLEBORO
DISTRICT COURT CONTINUES TO BE CLOSED
Civil Business Assigned to Wrentham District Court;
Criminal Business Assigned to Taunton District Court
The
Attleboro District Court and Juvenile Court continue
to be closed following a May 18 fire in the North Main
Street courthouse. A fire restoration company is cleaning
and repairing the damaged areas of the courthouse.
Jurors who were scheduled to report to the Attleboro
courthouse should not report for juror service.
Beginning
on Monday, June 1, some Attleboro District Court business
will be conducted in the Wrentham District Court. Civil
matters involving evictions, supplementary process, small
claims, civil motor vehicle infractions, civil motions
and civil trials will be held in the Wrentham District
Court. Civil filings for the Attleboro District Court
shall be filed at the Wrentham location.
All
other criminal matters, including arraignments, pre-trial
hearings, motions, and trials and criminal show cause
hearing will continue to take place in the Taunton District
Court. Restraining orders will be heard in the Taunton
District Court. Criminal filings for the Attleboro District
Court shall be filed in the Taunton location. Attleboro
Juvenile Court business will continue to be conducted
in Taunton Juvenile Court.
