Judicial
branch leaders, legislators, public officials,
lawyers, and community members will dedicate the Brockton
Trial Court in a special ceremony in the new courthouse,
which opened last August in downtown Brockton. The newly
built, four-story, buff-colored brick building houses
the Brockton District Court, the Plymouth Juvenile Court,
the Plymouth Probate and Family Court, and the Southeastern
Housing Court.
Featured
guests include Supreme Judicial Court Chief Justice
Margaret H. Marshall, Chief Justice for Administration
and Management Barbara A. Dortch-Okara, the Chief Justices
of the District, Juvenile, and Housing Courts, as well
as State Senator Robert J. Creedon and Brockton Mayor
John T. Yunits. Brockton District Court First Justice
David G. Nagle will be the master of ceremonies. (See
attached list of speakers.)
The ceremony
will include an invocation by Reverend William McKoy
of the Christ Congregational Church, musical performances
by the Brockton High School Jazz Ensemble, and the presentation
of the flags by the Trial Court Court Officers’ Honor
Guard.
