TRIAL COURT EMPLOYEES HONORED FOR EXCELLENCE
IN SPECIAL AWARDS CEREMONY IN DEDHAM

Boston, MA--Trial Court Chief Justice for Administration and Management Barbara A. Dortch-Okara today honored the Trial Court Employee of the Year and the fifteen recipients of the 2001 Trial Court Employee Excellence Awards at a special ceremony held in Dedham.

The Trial Court Employee of the Year is Angelina M. Wood, an Operations Supervisor II at the Norfolk Superior Court Clerk’s Office for Criminal Business, where she has worked since 1975.  Ms. Wood has demonstrated outstanding service to the courts and the public.  She is always ready to serve as a mentor to fellow employees, and is know for her professionalism and personal kindness.  She was nominated for the honor by a record number of people, including a Justice of the Supreme Judicial Court, a member of the U.S. Congress, judges, clerks, attorneys, law enforcement officers, and co-workers.

Chief Justice Dortch-Okara said, “Angelina Wood is an outstanding employee not only for her professional excellence but for the courtesy she exhibits toward others in the performance of her duties.  All the dedicated court employees selected by their colleagues in recognition of their outstanding service to the public are deserving recipients of these special awards.”

A thirteen-member committee also selected fifteen employees from more than 300 nominations for the Employee Excellence Awards.  (See below.)

Since 1987, the Administrative Office of the Trial Court has honored Trial Court employees with the annual awards for their outstanding job performance and commitment to public service.  There are approximately 7,000 employees in the Trial Court at more than 100 court locations and offices statewide.
