COURT MANAGEMENT ADVISORY BOARD SPONSORS
FORUM
FOR TRIAL LAWYERS
The
Court Management Advisory Board sponsored an unprecedented
open forum for trial lawyers at the law firm of Nutter,
McClennen & Fish LLP on May 29, 2007. The purpose of
the meeting was to elicit comments from the trial bar
concerning case management initiatives implemented by
the Trial Court as a result of recommendations of the
Visiting Commission on Management of the Courts, popularly
known as the Monan Commission. Topics such as fair and
firm trial dates and efficient case scheduling were discussed
at the two-hour meeting.
Chief
Justice Margaret H. Marshall and Chief Justice for Administration
and Management Robert A. Mulligan and members of the
Court Management Advisory Board, headed by Attorney Michael
B. Keating, participated with about 125 trial practitioners.
Attorney William Kennedy facilitated the discussion.
