of the Springfield District Court, Dies at 83

Robert E. Fein, Clerk-Magistrate of the Springfield District
Court, died at the age of 83 on Sunday, June 18, 2006.
Mr.
Fein served as an employee of the Massachusetts Trial Court
for nearly 55 years. He has been the Clerk-Magistrate of
the Springfield District Court since April 28, 1973.
Chief
Justice of the District Court, Lynda M. Connolly stated, "The
death of Bob Fein is a significant loss for the District
Court, and particularly for the community of Springfield
where Bob devoted more than 30 years of his life in leading
the Clerk's Office and in serving the community. He was
a true public servant, devoted to his family, the Court,
the community, and the Commonwealth."
Chief
Justice Connolly has appointed Attorney Stephen C. Poitrast,
Acting First Assistant Clerk-Magistrate of the Dedham District
Court to serve as the Clerk-Magistrate of the Springfield
District Court pro tempore.
