Supreme Judicial Court Appoints Hearing
Officer for Public Hearing
on Judge Ernest B. Murphy
The
Supreme Judicial Court today announced the appointment
of Hon. Peter W. Kilborn, retired Chief Justice of the
Land Court, to serve as Hearing Officer for the Public
Hearing in the matter regarding Judge Ernest B. Murphy.
The Commission on Judicial Conduct filed formal charges
in this matter with the Supreme Judicial Court on July
10, 2007. The Formal Charges and the Judge’s response
may be found on the Commission’s website at www.mass.gov/cjc with
the July 10, 2007 press release.
The Commission will
set a date for the Hearing on this matter, pursuant to Commission Rule 8B.
