Two Boston Attorneys Honored With
Clients’ Security Board’s William J. LeDoux Award
Boston—Supreme Judicial Court Justice Francis X. Spina presented the William J. LeDoux Award to Attorney Hang Nina Nguyen, managing partner of the Law Office of Hang Nina Nguyen in Boston, and to Attorney Hung Tran, a sole practitioner in Boston, in an awards ceremony held at the John Adams Courthouse on September 22.
Ms. Nguyen and Mr. Tran were recognized for their exceptional work in assisting members of the Vietnamese community with their claims to the Board after the immigrants’ lawyer had misapporopriated their funds. Created in 1997, the annual William J. LeDoux Award is presented to attorneys who perform outstanding pro bono legal work when representing a client before the Board.
The Clients’ Security Board, established in 1974 by the Supreme Judicial Court, oversees the disbursement of funds to clients who have been victimized by attorney defalcation. Through a portion of the annual registration fees paid by attorneys to the Board of Bar Overseers, the Clients’ Security Board reimburses clients who have been victimized by instances of attorney misappropriations.
