JUDGES,
LEGISLATORS, AND LOCAL OFFICIALS COMMEMORATE COMPLETION OF
RENOVATIONS AT WRENTHAM DISTRICT COURT

MA- Supreme Judicial
Court Justice Robert J. Cordy, Chief Justice for Administration
and Management Barbara A. Dortch-Okara, and Wrentham District
Court First Justice Daniel B. Winslow joined with colleagues,
legislators, executive branch officials, clerks, other court
staff, and civic leaders to commemorate the completion of
renovations at the Wrentham District Court with a ribbon-cutting
ceremony on September 27. Capital improvements included construction
of wheelchair access and an elevator, upgrades to the heating,
cooling, and ventilation system, parking lot improvements,
and beautification of the First Session Courtroom. Helping
to cut the ribbon, from left, are Amy Panek, aide to State
Senator Cheryl A. Jacques; State Representative Michael J.
Coppola; State Senator Jo Ann Sprague; Norfolk Register of
Deeds William O’Donnell; State Representative James E. Vallee
(partially obscured); Chief Justice Dortch-Okara; Deputy Commissioner
of the State Division of Capital Asset Management Neil Johnson;
Judge Winslow (partially obscured); Wrentham District Court
Clerk-Magistrate Edward J. Doherty; State Representative Scott
P. Brown; Steven Pierce, Chief Legal Counsel to the Governor;
State Representative Elizabeth A. Poirier; and State Representative
John H. Rogers, Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee.
The Courthouse renovations, funded
through the Court Facilities Improvement Act of 1998, were
supervised by the Division of Capital Asset Management in
cooperation with the Administrative Office of the Trial Court.
