COURT ADMINISTRATION ISSUES TO BE DISCUSSED AT SYMPOSIUM
MARKING 100TH ANNNIVERSARY OF ROSCOE POUND’S SPEECH,
“The Causes of Popular Dissatisfaction with the Administration of Justice ”

What:

Members of the judicial branch, the bar, and community and business leaders will revisit Roscoe Pound’s critique from 1906 and will explore current accomplishments and trends in court administration at both the state and national level.

One hundred years ago, Roscoe Pound, who later became the Dean of Harvard Law School, addressed the American Bar Association at its annual meeting and criticized the state of justice in America in a speech called by some the most influential paper in American jurisprudence. It later led to significant reforms in the administration of justice.

The event is sponsored by the Court Management Advisory Board and the Supreme Judicial Court Historical Society.
