Chief Justice Margaret H. Marshall will present her tenth Annual Address to the Legal Community at the Bench-Bar Symposium sponsored by the Massachusetts Bar Association. This year’s speech will focus on the deepening state budget crisis and its implications for the judicial system, lawyers, and the public.
The Massachusetts Bar Association will present Chief Justice Marshall with the prestigious Chief Justice Edward F. Hennessey Award for outstanding leadership and contributions to the improvement of the
administration of justice. Ten years ago, Chief Justice Marshall was appointed by Governor Paul Cellucci as the first woman Chief Justice of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.
Former Governor Paul Cellucci and Utah Supreme Court Chief Justice Christine Durham, the president of the national Conference of Chief Justices, are guest speakers. MBA President Valerie A. Yarashus also will provide remarks and present the award to Chief Justice Marshall.
