The Office of the Commissioner of Probation
will host its fifth annual Probation Employee Recognition
Ceremony on Friday, May 18th, at the Massachusetts
State House.
This year's ceremony will feature
a separate presentation of the first Kevin
Duggan Spirit of Community Service Award named
in honor of the Statewide Supervisor of the Massachusetts
Trial Court Community Service Program. Duggan died
in June 2006. The recipient of this award—who
will be chosen by a special committee-- will be named
by Commissioner John J. O'Brien prior to the
Probation Employee Recognition Ceremony.
Probation employees to be considered
for a Probation Employee Recognition Award must be
nominated by a Chief Probation Officer.
First Assistant Chief Probation Officers,
Assistant Chief Probation Officers, Probation Officers,
Assistant Probation Officers and Support Staff employees
are eligible for recognition.
Probation employees to be considered
for honors are those who:
- Routinely go
beyond the call of duty.
- Make a positive
impact in the court and in the community.
- Perform their
duties in an exemplary manner.
- Presents creative
ideas.
- Represent the
best of the organization.
Chief Probation Officers nominating an
employee or employees must submit a one-page summary
about the employee which includes detailed information
on why this person should be recognized. Submissions
may be faxed to 617-727-0316 or sent via email to holland_c@jud.state.ma.us.
The submission deadline for nominations is Friday,
April 20th.
