TWO PROBATION "MOST WANTED" OFFENDERS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY

Two Probation violators, featured on the Massachusetts Probation Service’s Most Wanted List,  have been apprehended today, bringing the total to three offenders captured this month.

This morning in Roxbury, 27-year-old Rubenson Cherilus, was taken into custody by State Police. Across the state line in Providence, Rhode Island, another offender featured on the list --Michael Washington, 56, was apprehended--leaving only two of the nine offenders on the Massachusetts Probation Service’s statewide Most Wanted List.

Cherilus, formerly of Somerville, was also featured on Probation’s spring “Most Wanted” list. He was found at 6 a.m. in a Dorchester home today by Massachusetts State Police who said Cherilus threw a gun out of the window as they approached. Cherilus was being sought by two separate courts: Boston Municipal Court (BMC)-South Boston and Somerville District Court. He was wanted for possession of firearms and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Michael Washington, 56, was being sought by Norfolk Superior Court for armed burglary, home invasion, and armed assault. Washington was charged with breaking into his girlfriend’s home while she was away and holding her adult daughter hostage for five hours. Washington also uses the aliases: Michael Jett and Michael Rollins. Washington served a sentence of six to nine years on this case.

On January 5th, Probation violator Dennis I. Lauber, 46, was apprehended by State Police at a Roxbury home. Lauber was wanted by Essex Superior Court for armed robbery. Lauber, whose alias is Dennis Lauben, was also being sought on a non-probation case by Lynn District Court for assault and battery and larceny over $250. Lauber is wanted for breaking and entering a building--night time: felony: assault and battery with a dangerous weapon; and assault and battery, two counts (non-probation related case).

“The capture of Cherilus and Lauber is the result of tips and State Police intelligence. We in Probation would like to thank the public for providing us with valuable information and also commend the State Police for their great work in helping us to bring these offenders back before the court,” said Chief Probation Officer Joseph Jackson, who coordinates Probation’s Most Wanted List.

Among the violators who remain on the list are Jeffrey Wood, 54, who has been missing since 1997; and David Wayne Lacouture, 49, who is being sought by Barnstable Superior Court for indecent assault and battery on a child.

Wood, alias Jeffrey Millette, is being sought by Plymouth Superior Court for rape of a child with force. He is five-foot, eight, weighs 155 pounds, and has brown hair and hazel eyes. Wood wears glasses and has scars on his back, eye, and face as well as tattoos on his left and right arms. His aliases are Bo Beauregard. Jeffrey Beauregard, and Bo Woods. His last known address is in Wareham. Wood also has a previous conviction for assault and battery on a police officer.

Lacouture is a convicted level three sex offender and is wanted for failure to register as a sex offender. He is five-foot, eight, 160 pounds, and has blue eyes and brown hair. He has tattoos on his face, right arm, right finger, neck, abdomen, and right leg. Lacouture’s aliases are David Lane and Paul Lacouture. His last known address was in Hyannis.
