The recipients of the 2006 Probation
Employee Recognition Awards have been chosen. The eight
Probation Officers, five Support Staff employees, four
Assistant Chief Probation Officers and two Associate
Probation Officers from across the state will be honored
at a special ceremony in the Great Hall of the Massachusetts
State House on Thursday, May 11th.
Honorees are being acknowledged for their
exemplary work in the community and in the Massachusetts
Probation Service.
“It is my opinion that the employees
who have been chosen to be honored are among the best
of our organization. They are all deserving of this
acknowledgement of their extraordinary efforts,” said
Commissioner of Probation John J. O’Brien.
The four Assistant Chief Probation Officers
to be honored are: Michael Thomas,
New Bedford District; Roland Bouncuore,
Lawrence District; Carol Maher, Holyoke
District; and Kathleen R. Hurrie,
Plymouth Superior.
Probation Officer honorees include: Christine
S. Drew, Barnstable District; Michael
Borden, Fall River District; Joann
Lam, Salem District; Brian K. Crowley,
Franklin/Hampshire Juvenile; Dennis J. Visconti,
Woburn District; James Quinn, Plymouth
Juvenile; Trina Higgins, Dorchester
Division of the Boston Municipal Court; and Candido
Diaz, Jr., Worcester Juvenile.
Among the Support Staff honorees are: Kathleen
Hunt, Probation Office Manager, Falmouth
District Court; Patricia Haines,
Probation Office Manager, Peabody District Court; Deborah
Armstrong, Probation Case Specialist, Franklin/Hampshire
Juvenile; Dolores Gervais, Probation
Case Specialist, Eastern Hampshire District; and Carol
Apgar, Probation Operations Supervisor,
Northampton District.
Jean M. Tatro, Northern
Berkshire District, and Jeremiah V. Murphy
III, Essex Juvenile, are the two Associate
Probation Officers who will be recognized at the ceremony.
