PROBATION EMPLOYEE RECOGNITION AWARD HONOREES ARE LAUDED AT STATEHOUSE CEREMONY
Two hundred people turned out for the fifth Annual Probation Employee Recognition Awards Ceremony on Friday at the State House, an event which featured the presentation of the first Kevin Duggan Community Service Awards.
The 2007 Awards Ceremony marked the first time in the event’s five-year history that support staff dominated the awards. Among the honorees were 11 support staff employees, one First Assistant Chief Probation Officer, three Assistant Chief Probation Officers, four Probation Officers and two Associate Probation Officers.
The 11 support staff employees are Linda Overberg, Essex Juvenile Court Probation Operations Supervisor; Patricia A. Jaworski, Haverhill District Court Probation Office Manager; Donna Smola, Springfield District Court Probation Office Manager; Susan A. MacDougall, Eastern Hampshire District Court Probation Operations Supervisor; Teresa LaFreniere, Hampshire Probate & Family Court Probation Operations Supervisor II; Nancy J. Kistner, Marlborough District Court Probation Office Manager; Kelly Nassif, Somerville District Court Probation Case Specialist IV; Martha Calder, Waltham District Court Probation Office Manager; Jackie Laumann-Coyne, Boston Municipal — West Roxbury Court Probation Case Coordinator II; Sharon Aro, Westborough District Court Account Clerk I; and Myrna Rodriguez Laboy, Worcester Juvenile Court Probation Case Specialist IV.
Associate Probation Officers Cori A. Harrington of Bristol Probate & Family Court and Elaine Hatch of Stoughton District Court were honored.
First Assistant Chief Probation Officer Therese Cormier of Bristol Juvenile Court and Assistant Chief Probation Officers: Paul M. Robinson of Barnstable Superior Court; Joseph (Jay) Brien of Norfolk Superior Court; and Victor M. Melendez of Suffolk Probate & Family Court received awards.
Among the four Probation Officers who were recognized at the State House ceremony were Victor Correia of Fall River District Court, Keith Bourdon of Taunton District Court, Stephen Brown of Essex Juvenile Court, and Fiona Bycroft Ryder of Worcester Juvenile Court.
The recipients of the first Kevin Duggan Community Service Awards Ceremony were Attleboro District Court Presiding Justice Gregory L. Phillips and Boston Municipal Court- Dorchester Division Presiding Justice Sydney Hanlon.
