Worcester Court Complex Employees To Hold Candlelight Vigil
for
Colleague and
Draw Attention to Domestic Violence
Worcester Superior Probation and court staff, representatives from local law enforcement agencies, and family and friends will honor Janice Santos, a Probation Office Supervisor, at a 4:45 p.m. Candlelight vigil today on Friday, June 10th, in front of the Worcester Court Complex, 225 Main Street.
Santos was slain on Wednesday and her husband was charged with her murder.
Worcester Superior Probation Chief Thomas Turco said the vigil is being held to allow Santos' colleagues to share memories of her and to draw attention to domestic violence.
"We have been so caught off guard by this. Janice's colleagues wanted a chance to remember her and to send a message to victims of domestic violence to not remain silent," said Turco.
