SPRINGFIELD ASSISTANT CHIEF P.O. RETURNS TO HERO'S WELCOME
AT COURT RECEPTION

          

          Springfield Assistant Chief Probation Officer Margaret E. Oglesby was recently honored at a Welcome Home Party thrown by her colleagues at the courthouse.

          Oglesby, a captain for the National Guard Military Police, was on an eight-month deployment in Afghanistan during the war in Iraq. As captain of the 747th Military Police Guard, Oglesby was in charge of maintaining safety at police compounds. She managed a staff of 154 soldiers.

          Oglesby is a 14- year employee of the Massachusetts Probation Service. She began her probation career as a probation officer at Springfield District Court. She later worked as a probation officer in Norfolk Probate & Family Court, later returning to Springfield District where she became an Assistant Chief Probation Officer in 1999.
