Director of Security Appointed
Chief Justice for Administration & Management
Robert A. Mulligan has appointed Thomas J. Connolly to serve as
Director of Security for the Trial Court. Mr. Connolly has served
as the Acting Director for four years following five years as Deputy
Director of Security. He joined the Trial Court as a Court Officer
in 1993 from the position of Operations Manager in the corporate
security department of Fidelity Investments.
“Tom has raised the professionalism of the
Trial Court’s 1,200-member security force through new training,
technology and outreach to other law enforcement agencies,” said
Chief Justice Mulligan. “In addition to his strong security
credentials and credibility with his force, Tom is totally reliable
and a person of the utmost integrity.”
“I look forward to continuing my leadership
of the Security Department, based on the high standards set by
Chief Justice Mulligan,” said Mr. Connolly. “We now
have the highest security staffing level ever and continue to introduce
state-of-the-art technology to our courthouses.”
Prior to joining the Trial Court, Mr. Connolly held
several security positions at Fidelity Investments and before that
worked as the Lead Security Officer at corporate headquarters for
Digital Equipment Corporation. He received his Bachelor of Science
degree in Criminal Justice from Suffolk University.
