NOTICE
Proposed Amendment to
Rule 10 of the Mass. Rules of Civil Procedure
The Supreme Judicial Court's Standing Advisory Committee on the Rules of Civil Procedure invites comments on a proposed amendment to Rule 10 of the Massachusetts Rules of Civil Procedure.
The proposed amendment would add a new Mass. R. Civ. P. 10(e) providing that the text of any document may appear on both sides of a page. Although the proposed language has been inserted in Rule 10 which governs form of pleadings, Mass. R. Civ. P. 7(b)(2) would make the new provision also applicable to motions and other papers filed.
Comments on the proposed amendments should be directed to the Standing Advisory Committee on the Rules of Civil Procedure, c/o Christine P. Burak, Supreme Judicial Court, John Adams Courthouse, One Pemberton Square, Boston MA 02108 on or before September 8, 2009. Comments may also be sent to christine.burak@sjc.state.ma.us.
After reviewing the comments submitted, the Standing Advisory Committee will make its recommendations to the Supreme Judicial Court with respect to the proposed amendment.
