Proposed Amendment to
Rule 3:03 of the Rules of the Supreme Judicial Court

 
            The Supreme Judicial Court 's Rules Committee invites comments on a proposed amendment to Rule 3:03 of the Rules of the Supreme Judicial Court . 

            The proposed amendment to S.J.C. Rule 3:03 (3) would clarify the length of time that a student practitioner who has graduated from law school and passed the first bar examination following graduation can continue as a student practitioner under Rule 3:03.  The amendment provides that unless otherwise ordered by the court, the approval to practice under Rule 3:03 for students who have passed that bar examination extends for six months after the examination or until the student's admission to the bar, whichever is sooner.

        Comments on the proposed amendments should be directed to Christine P. Burak, Secretary, Supreme Judicial Court Rules Committee, Supreme Judicial Court , John Adams Courthouse, One Pemberton Square , Boston MA 02108 on or before September 25, 2009.   Comments may also be sent to christine.burak@sjc.state.ma.us.
